Joseph Floyd Pittman
January 21, 1927 - October 30, 2007
Joseph Floyd Pittman, 80, passed away October 30, 2007 at Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Pittman was born January 21, 1927, in Kingsland, GA. His parents were Joe and Ethel Pittman. He grew up in Waycross, GA and graduated from Waycross High School in 1944. He was in the automotive business and retired from Abercorn Chevron after 20 years. The last 8 years he was employed by Savannah Dodge.
Mr. Pittman was a member of Landrum Lodge #48 F.&A.M.'s, a 32nd degree KCCH Mason of the Scottish Rite Consistory-Valley of Savannah and a member of the Alee Shrine. He served as Potentate of Alee Shrine in 1983. He was also a member of the Alee Flag Unit, an honorary member of Alee Patrol, the Directors Staff and the Tybee Lite Shrine Club. He was a member of American Legion Post #134.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Pittman; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ron Galbreath of Mauldin, SC; grandsons, Carey Galbreath and wife Kathy of Rock Hill, SC and Mark Galbreath of Greenville, SC and great-grandchildren, Allie and Tanner Galbreath.
He is also survived by a sister; Janie Campbell Norman of Northboro, MA; nieces, Patti Gale Joe of Las Vegas, NV, Kathy Vermouth Terry of Northboro, MA and nephews, Reavis Pittman June of Waycross, GA and Lee Campbell Diane of Antrim, NH.
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, November 2, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial and Masonic Rites following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active Pallbearers will be Mr. Pittman's nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Past Potentates and the Alee Flag Unit.

Sometimes in our lives we are blessed beyond measure to become acquainted with individuals like Mr. Floyd Pittman. I was priveledged to have worked with him and will always have fond memories of him and his humor. This man must have know everyone in Savannah. Those who didn't have the opportunity to meet him has missed meeting a wonderful man. Floyd, I will forever hold you dear to my heart. Rest in peace my friend and know that the world will be a lesser place without you.
